Hong De Lion Dance Association

Sunshine West, Melbourne, Victoria

About

Hong De Lion Dance Association (弘德國術會) is a Sunshine West-based non-profit specialising in the comparatively rare Hok San style of lion dance, following the lineage of Grandmaster Lui San Yiu's Sar Ping tradition. In 2013 the association added Fuzhou-style dragon dance to its repertoire, trained directly by a Singaporean master, and in 2015 joined the International Fuzhou Dragon Dance Alliance. With 9,000+ Facebook followers, Hong De has one of the strongest community presences of any Melbourne lion dance group, and has a strong relationship with the Bendigo Chinese Association, having performed at the Easter Fair multiple times.
