Lion dance tradition in Darwin traces to 1887, following the establishment of the Chinese Temple. The Chung Wah Society (澳洲達爾文中華會) was formally established in 1946, with its dedicated lion dance troupe well-established by the late 1970s. A junior troupe has since been added. Headquartered at 25 Woods Street, Darwin NT 0800.
